3D Apps for the Mac/Java FX

Sat Dec 13, 2008, 8:23 AM
Well, almost 9 months after getting my Mac, no apps have impressed me as much as trueSpace and MoI on Windows, maybe i should check out cinemia4D et al.

On the other hand, with the advent of JavaFX how hard can it be to write a 3D app that works how i want it to?
Yeah you guessed, really hard, but at least in theory the UI side of things should be easier (then with Java) thanks to JavaFX, just the 3D coding is going to be a nightmare.
Not sure OpenGL helps here, for display and render, for sure, but for manipulation.....Hmmmm

Perhaps another challenge i will get bored of after a few days of getting nowhere fast!!

  • Mood: Eager
  • Listening to: Terravision
  • Reading: JavaFX articals

Thank you very much for the fave! I see you lik 3D too, what program do you normally work in?
your welcome. Well until I moved to a make, it was trueSpace, and I started to get into a brilliant spline based app called MoI. Shame never is on the OSX, I have started to try out Cheetah3D, seems pretty good for the price.

If you are a windows user, i would really suggest checking out MoI, 2 of the images in my gallery or based on tutorials for it.
MoI? What's that stand for I've never heard of it before, I usually just use 3ds max or maya for school n such
IT stands for Moment of Inspiration ([link]) one of the guys behind Rhino has something to do with it.
Oh wow that actually looks pretty cool, I'll have to check it out a little more. Thanks a lot ^_^
